ATLANTA - One man was shot to death and another wounded by federal agents trying to serve a search warrant at a house in Atlanta on Monday.
Agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms were helping Atlanta police serve the warrant for a drug search about 3:30 p.m. when two men in a car approached the house.
Two ATF agents told the men to stop, but the driver instead sped up and headed directly for them, said Jack Killorin, a spokesman for the Atlanta ATF office.
Agents fired and hit the driver at least once. The driver was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died. The condition of the second man was not immediately known.
Both agents were also taken to Grady with non-life threatening injuries to the hand and knee.
