UNION CITY - The Atlanta-Fulton County Library branch in Union City will remain closed the rest of the week after an apparent murder-suicide.
Police believe 31-year-old John Egleston shot his supervisor, 52-year-old Gladys Dennard, Monday and then shot himself inside the library off Interstate 85.
Another library worker returning from a trip to get coffee found the bodies before the building opened for the day.
Library board chairman Clint Johnson said Dennard had disciplined Egleston, who was working toward a degree in library science. He said he did not know the nature of the discipline.
Dennard had worked for the library system for three decades and opened the Union City branch ten years ago.
