DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA - NASCAR fined and suspended Busch Series crew chief Michael Kadlecik on Tuesday for a rule violation in last Saturday's NetZero 250 at Pikes Peak International Raceway.
Kadlecik, crew chief for the Chevrolet driven by Tony Raines, was fined $2,500 and suspended from competition until Aug. 21 for an improperly attached weight.
NASCAR officials said pieces of ballast weight came off the No. 33 during the race.
Also fined were Mike Beam, crew chief for Ricky Craven in the Winston Cup series, and Charles Lewis, crew chief for Ashton Lewis Jr., in the Busch Series.
Beam was fined $2,500 because crew member Pat Smith went over the wall to work on Craven's Ford during Sunday's Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono without wearing a helmet. The rules state the crew chief is responsible for such violations.
Lewis was fined $1,500 for an unapproved front coil spring discovered in an inspection before the Pike's Peak Busch race.
