Man arrested in Georgia for molesting boy while at Maryland seminary

SAVANNAH - A former Montgomery County, Maryland seminary student is under arrest in Georgia on charges he repeatedly abused a 12-year-old boy beginning in 1973. <br>

Fifty-eight-year-old Wayland Brown is being held without bond in Savannah for child abuse and perverted practice. <br>
<br>
Police say the abuse occurred while Brown was enrolled at Catholic University and Washington Theological College. He was also assigned to Saint Rose of Lima Church in Gaithersburg, where he met the victim. <br>
<br>
Montgomery County police say the abuse happened at the victim's home in Gaithersburg, inside the church rectory and in D.C. and Georgia. Brown is currently only charged in the Montgomery County cases. <br>
<br>
According to the diocese of Savannah, Brown became a priest, but has not been assigned to a church since 1988.
