FLOWERY BRANCH - A hit and run accident on Interstate 985 southbound Monday evening left a teenage boy with serious injuries.
The 14-year-old boy was airlifted to Grady Memorial in Atlanta after the accident about .10 mile north of the Friendship Road exit.
The accident happened when the car he was riding in, driven by Bonnie Reynolds of Gainesville, was struck by a car that left the scene.
The boy was thrown from from the car as it left the roadway and rolled over. Interstate 985 was shut down for approximately two and a half hours.
The boy's name has not been released.
Reynolds was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she was treated and released.
