Jury selection opens murder trial of Atlanta husband

ATLANTA - A jury was selected Tuesday in the murder trial of a Fayette County man accused of killing his wife who disappeared five years ago. <br>

Jim Watson, 39, was charged in January with murder in the death of Beverley Watson, who disappeared from her home in January 1997. Her bones were found in March 1999 on a south Fulton County farm. <br>

Eight men and four women will sit on the jury in Fulton County's Superior Court. Two weeks were set aside for the trial. <br>
<br>
In August 2000, Watson settled a wrongful death suit filed by his wife's family seeking to prevent him from collecting any insurance money from her death. Watson agreed to allow all the funds to go to the couple's two children.
