ATLANTA - Authorities said an Atlanta police officer who was showing his girlfriend how a gun worked was killed Wednesday when the gun discharged. <br>

Remon L. Ingram, 26, died about 5 p.m. at his Morrow home when a bullet from a .380-caliber pistol struck him on the right side of his body, Clayton County Maj. Doug Jewett said. <br>

Ingram, a five-year veteran, was assigned to the field operations division, according to Atlanta police Sgt. John Quigley.
