QUITMAN - A Brooks County couple are offering a $500 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever shot four horses, killing one and seriously wounding two others.
Sidney and Cindy Ridgon returned home Saturday evening to find the horse shot by a small-caliber weapon in a stable area behind their house. Whoever shot them intentionally walked onto the property, Brooks County Sheriff Richard Chafin said.

The Rigdons said they knew of no one who would have done it, Chafin said.
Mrs. Rigdon's quarter horse died of an abdominal wound. Rigdon's Tennessee walking horse was shot eight times six in its haunches, once in the left front leg and once in the throat and will probably have to be destoryed.
A Welsh pony belonging to 4-year-old Amber Rigdon had a serious abdominal wound. Two-year-old Elizabeth Rigdon's Welsh pony appeared to be in stable condition.
