ATLANTA - The Board of Regents selected projects at Armstrong Atlantic State University, Georgia Tech and the University of Georgia Tuesday to add to its budget wish-list for future state funding.
Members of the board chose the projects from 11 requested by the state's public colleges and universities. They will be added to the bottom of the Regents' priority list, working their way to the top in about five years as projects ahead of them are funded by lawmakers.
Added to the priority list were:
Armstrong Atlantic's $22.5 million project to add 121,000 square feet of instructional space, including general classrooms, lecture halls, computer labs and research labs.
Georgia Tech's $45 million request to build an advanced ``clean room'' building for computer chip technology. The project will also be supported with $35 million in private funds.
The University of Georgia's proposal for new space to house its special collections. The cost includes $24 million in state funds and $12 million in private funds.
The three projects amounted to just over $90 million, the goal Regents hoped to reach from the $290 million in construction dollars which colleges and universities had requested.
