Barnes taps ex-legislator for PSC, giving board Democrat majority

ATLANTA - Governor Barnes tapped an old friend from the Legislature, Democrat Earleen Sizemore of Sylvester, to fill a vacancy on the Public Service Commission, giving the utility-regulating panel a 3-2 Democratic majority. <br> <br> Before the death last month of member Bob Durden, the panel had been 3-2 Republican. Durden, who was serving his 12th year on the board, died following a long battle with cancer. <br> <br> The 63-year-old Sizemore served in the Georgia House from 1974 through 1988 and was vice chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee. She currently is director of the Tifton campus of Moultrie Technical College. <br> <br> Sizemore will be sworn in June 18 for a term which ends in December. <br> <br> Other members of the board are Democrats David Burgess and Lauren ``Bubba&#39;&#39; McDonald and Republicans Bobby Baker and Stan Wise.
