The boy, who was not named because of his age, was charged Friday with vehicular homicide for hitting and killing another driver while fleeing from police.
Officers believe the boy was driving a white Nissan Maxima without headlights around 2:30 a.m. May 26 and sped from Chatham County police when they tried to stop him.
Police say he traveled west, ignored a traffic light and slammed into two vehicles at an intersection.
A hearing will be held Monday to decide whether he will be tried as a juvenile or an adult.
