Daughter of Fayette County man accused of murder expected to testify

ATLANTA - A hairdresser testified Monday that she talked with Beverley Watson shortly after the Fayette County woman was reported missing. <br> <br> Sherri Childers Newsome said Beverley Watson approached her in the Peachtree City K-mart about coloring her hair red. <br> <br> Watson&#39;s husband, Jim, is on trial in Fulton County Superior Court, accused of killing his wife five years ago. <br> <br> Early in the eight days of testimony, several of Beverley Watson&#39;s friends testified she confided that her husband had choked her, broken her arm and threatened to kill her and hide her body if she tried to divorce him. <br> <br> Jim Watson took the stand Friday in his own defense -- denying ever hitting, choking or killing his wife. <br> <br> He told police in January 1997 that his 33-year-old wife had walked away from their home, leaving her car, clothes and her two children. She had planned to file for divorce and had made a deposit on an apartment for her and the children.
