ATLANTA - A hairdresser testified Monday that she talked with Beverley Watson shortly after the Fayette County woman was reported missing.
Sherri Childers Newsome said Beverley Watson approached her in the Peachtree City K-mart about coloring her hair red.
Watson's husband, Jim, is on trial in Fulton County Superior Court, accused of killing his wife five years ago.
Early in the eight days of testimony, several of Beverley Watson's friends testified she confided that her husband had choked her, broken her arm and threatened to kill her and hide her body if she tried to divorce him.
Jim Watson took the stand Friday in his own defense -- denying ever hitting, choking or killing his wife.
He told police in January 1997 that his 33-year-old wife had walked away from their home, leaving her car, clothes and her two children. She had planned to file for divorce and had made a deposit on an apartment for her and the children.
