Shizouka, Japan-- The least accomplished of Brazil's Three-R's was unstoppable today as he lifted the four-time champions into the World Cup semifinals.
Ronaldinho made two signature plays to lead Brazil past England, 2-to-1. He beat two defenders on a 40-yard run down the middle before passing to Rivaldo who left-footed the ball from 12 yards for the first score late in the first half.
Later, Ronaldinho floated a 35-yarder into the net in the 50th minute before being ejected for a tackle on Danny Mills. Brazil had to play a man down for the last 33 minutes. That penalty will also keep Ronaldinho out of the semifinals.
England opened the scoring midway through the first half. A Brazilian defender totally misplayed Michael Owen's shot which sailed over the sprawling goalkeeper Marcos.
