Man tied to three-state crime spree caught in S.C.

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA - A Georgia man tied to a three-state crime spree has been arrested in South Carolina. <br> <br> Thirty-one-year-old Craig Pilcher of Augusta is being held on a one million dollar bond in Scotland County, North Carolina. Sheriff Buddy Blalock says Pilcher faces charges related to the Tuesday robbery of a car salesman and a police chase that ended in South Carolina. <br> <br> Police say Pilcher fled Augusta last week when Richmond County officers, who were investigating several armed robberies at convenience stores in the area, began asking around at the hotel where Pilcher was staying. <br> <br> Officials with the sheriff&#39;s department there say Pilcher and 26-year-old Teresa Crawford, left the area together. <br> <br> Pilcher, who was paroled in June after serving time on theft charges, also is a suspect in the robbery and shooting of hotel employee Herman Duncan. <br> <br> After leaving Augusta last week, police say the pair drove to Florence, South Carolina, where they robbed a hotel Friday. Three days later, another hotel robbery was reported in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
