ATLANTA - The ex-girlfriend of a MARTA bus driver whose body was found last month bound and gagged behind St. Anne's Episcopal School has been arrested and charged with his slaying.
A man she allegedly hired to kill the victim also was arrested.
Charged with murder in the death of Bobby Jackson were 46-year-old Shirley Lyons of Zebulon and 40-year-old Khalique Shariff of Atlanta.
Atlanta police Detective J.D. Stephens said a search of Lyons' Pike County home yesterday found blood in the house that matched the victim's blood and she was arrested.
Stephens said that Lyons told investigators she had paid Shariff to kill her ex-boyfriend, then lured Jackson to her home.
Stephens said the 45-year-old Jackson suffocated during the ride from Pike County to Atlanta, and Shariff dumped his body behind the school. The body was found April 12.
Shariff was arrested early Wednesday at a boarding house in Atlanta.
Stephens said both have confessed to their roles in the slaying.
