SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Third baseman Brian Buscher's diving double-play with the bases loaded helped preserve South Carolina's 5-4 victory over Wofford on Wednesday night. <br>

Solo home runs by Trey Dyson in the fourth and Kevin Melillo in the sixth helped the Gamecocks (35-10) build a 5-1 lead. <br>

The Terriers (22-23) then opened the bottom of the sixth with four consecutive hits to score three runs and cut South Carolina's lead to 5-4. <br>

Gamecock closer Blake Taylor came into to finish the game, but allowed a single and back-to-back walks to load the bases with one out. <br>

Brian Casey hit a grounder up the third base line, but Buscher dove, caught it and landed on the third base bag. His throw to first made it in time to complete the game-ending double play. It was Taylor's 13th save. <br>

South Carolina starter Matt Campbell pitched 2 1/3 innings to pick up the win. <br>
<br>
Culley Kline (2-5) allowed five runs on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts in eight innings to pick up the loss for Wofford.
