AUGUSTA - Actor Danny Glover honored his mother during commencement ceremonies at Paine College, a historically black college in Augusta. <br>

Glover's mother -- Carrie Hunley Glover -- graduated from Paine in 1942. In 1990, he memorialized his mother with a 100-thousan dollar donation to Paine for an endowment in her name. <br>

Glover -- best known for his role in the ``Lethal Weapon'' movies -- told graduates this afternoon that his grandparents' proudest moments were when his mother was accepted as a student at Paine and when she graduated. <br>
<br>
Glover said -- quote -- ``Like your parents, my grandparents worked very hard to get my mother through college. My grandmother was a midwife, who delivered everything from babies to eggs, to get that girl through college.'' <br>
<br>
Glover shook every student's hand at Paine's 120th commencement -- accepting a few hugs as well. <br>
<br>
There were about a hundred graduates. <br>
