NORCROSS - Police say the killing of a 17-year-old girl in a drive-by shooting over the weekend may be gang related. Two people have been arrested.
Gwinnett police corporel Ray Dunlap said Maribelle Gonzalez, who turned 17 Sunday, and 20-year-old Eric Hernandez, apparently had an altercation with a group at a Hispanic club in DeKalb County.
Both were shot in a car at about 3 a.m. Sunday at South Norcross Tucker Road and Jimmy Carter Boulevard.
Gonzalez, who lived in Austell, died. Hernandez, also of Austell, was hospitalized after a single gunshot went through both legs.
Twenty-year-old Sergio Garcia-Hernandez and a 16-year-old whose name was not released were arrested late Sunday.
