Former Gainesville City Manager dies at age 81

GAINESIVILLE - Former Gainesville City Manager Ray Keith died at the age of 81 Tuesday.

City Coucilman Bob Hamrick was on the council when Keith was the city manager.

He recalls Keith as being instrumental in the city's revitalizing plan and pushed for industrial development in the area.

Keith served as city manager from the early 1970's through the late 1980's, funeral services are pending and are being handled by Memorial Park.
