Rapist gets two life terms; faces more charges

MARIETTA - A Mableton man was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison for raping a woman in a Cobb County motel last year. <br> <br> Kyle Evan Johnson, 36, who spent more than four years in prison for rape and kidnapping in Fulton County, also is suspected of numerous sex offenses in Gwinnett and Clayton counties, where authorities say they intend to prosecute him. <br> <br> Johnson was arrested in March 2001 outside a motel. Inside his car, police found photographs of a woman who had been raped in a nearby motel just days earlier. <br> <br> Johnson was convicted of rape, kidnapping and nine other offenses April 26. At his sentencing hearing, prosecutor Henry Thompson said Johnson had served time for two cases of kidnapping and rape in Fulton County to which he pleaded guilty in 1987.
