The Longtime dirt track driver from Baldwin picked up his one thousandth career victory Saturday night at Lavonia Speedway, leading all 30 laps in the Late Model feature.<br>

The 55-year-old Simmons, who had a brief career in Winston Cup racing, took a victory lap while waving the checkered flag.<br>
<br>
He's been racing for 41 years.
