Brunswick doctor scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday

BRUNSWICK - A doctor convicted on murder-for-hire charges in a scheme to have his wife killed will be back before a judge in Brunswick Wednesday. <br>

Sentencing for 62-year-old Doctor Carl Drury is scheduled to be sentenced at 2 p.m. before U.S. District Court Judge Dudley Bowen of Augusta. He presided over Drury's two-day criminal trial. <br>
<br>
A federal jury convicted Drury in February of five counts. <br>
<br>
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms tape recorded Drury hatching a murder scheme with an undercover agent posing as a hit man. <br>
<br>
His wife, Mary Drury, was never harmed. She divorced Drury soon after his arrest August 24. <br>
<br>
Drury faces a maximum sentence of life in prison. <br>
<br>
Drury is a former Georgia legislator and has practiced medicine in the port city of Brunswick for 23 years.
