PHOENIX - Former Georgia Tech star Stephon Marbury, the current Phoenix Suns point guard, had arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle Thursday.
He had a bone spur removed from his left ankle last month.
The team said Doctor Gus Armendariz successfully removed synovitis, or general inflammation.
On April 24, Armendariz removed loose bodies and inflamed material from Marbury's left ankle in an operation also performed at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Marbury averaged a team-high 20.4 points, 8.1 assists and 38.9 minutes, while shooting a career-best 44.2 percent from the field.
