AUGUSTA - A 13-year-old was accused of bringing two Molotov cocktails to school and striking a match in a classroom, threatening to set fires in the gym and a teacher's car.
The boy, whose name was not released because of his age, was arrested Wednesday at Murphey Middle School, sheriff's Lt. Jimmy Young said Thursday.
``He said he was going to burn down the gym because that's where everybody picked on him,'' Young said.
He said the juvenile told police he also wanted to burn a specific teacher's car with a second Molotov cocktail because he said his complaints about being bullied weren't being addressed.
The teen-ager was charged with terroristic threats and acts and possession of a destructive device. He was taken to the Augusta Regional Youth Detention Center, to await a hearing.
A teacher smelled smoke in the classroom about 3 p.m. Wednesday and determined that the 13-year-old lit the match, Young said. Police arrived, searched his book bag and found two 12-ounce glass bottles filled about half way with ``some type of flammable liquid with strings coming out of the top,'' Young said.
