ATLANTA - Police arrested a second suspect in the fatal shootings of two men in a parking lot at the Phipps Plaza mall in Buckhead after he walked into police headquarters and surrendered Thursday.
Steven Timmermon, 25, who was accompanied by two lawyers, and Muhammad Hussein are accused of killing Jonathan Rice and Stephen Strickland, both of Marietta. Authorities believe a drug deal was involved in the May 2 shooting.
One of Timmermon's lawyers, Alex Simanovsky, said his client ``is not a party to any crime.''
Hussein, also 25, surrendered Tuesday night. His lawyer says he acted in self-defense.
The 20-year-old Rice was shot several times and was found near a car. Strickland, 19, was found near an entrance to Saks Fifth Avenue. Investigators found four or five bags of marijuana near the dead men.
