HEFLIN, ALABAMA - A woman stabbed during an armed robbery last week identified Donald Ray Wheat, the man suspected of killing four people in a video store robbery, as her attacker.
The woman, who was not identified, didn't hesitate to pick Wheat, 48, of Shereys Mill, out of a photo lineup with him and six similar-looking men, said Lt. Greg Merrill.
The woman was recovering from the attack that took place last Monday.
``It was very emotional,'' Merrill said. ``She really fell apart when she saw the picture.''
Wheat was then charged with attempted murder and robbery, besides the robbery charge in the quadruple killing of four people in an Anniston Blockbuster video store Wednesday. He's being held on bails totaling $1.2 million.
Calhoun County District Attorney Joe Hubbard said Wheat will likely soon be charged with four counts of capital murder.
The victims were identified as employees Austin Joplin, 22, of Jacksonville, and Douglas Neal, 27, of Tallapoosa, Ga., who were found in an office in the rear of the store; and brothers Joseph Burch, 21, and Andrew Burch, 19, both of Jacksonville.
Wheat also was charged Friday with the May 10 murder and robbery of a convenience store owner in Bowdon, Ga.
