ATLANTA - A 14-year-old boy turned himself in Tuesday night after authorities increased patrols in the neighborhood where a 12-year-old girl was raped. <br>

The teen was accompanied by his aunt when he surrendered to police at City Hall East about 7:30 p.m. Police did not release his name because he is a juvenile. <br>

On Monday, the 12-year-old girl reported that she was raped on her way to school. Police said she was walking on a trail to John F. Kennedy Middle School when she was attacked just before 9 a.m. <br>

The assailant hit her in the head, punched her and raped her in a vacant shed in the Vine City neighborhood. <br>
<br>
In September 2000, a 13-year-old girl was raped in the same neighborhood by a man who dragged her into an abandoned house. Allen Brown Bailey was charged with the attack.
