ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA - Tyler Lumsden pitched seven strong innings and Jeff Baker had four hits to lead Clemson to a 5-3 victory over North Carolina State Friday in an Atlantic Coast Conference tournament elimination game. <br>

Lumsden (3-1) allowed three runs, two of them earned, on eight hits and three walks. He struck out nine for the Tigers (46-13). Jeff Hahn got the save, pitching two scoreless innings. <br>

Daniel Caldwell (7-8) took the loss for the Wolfpack (33-26), giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks in 4 2/3 innings. He struck out four. <br>

Baker's two-run single highlighted a three-run Tiger fifth that built the lead to 4-1. Baker finished 4-for-5 with two RBIs. <br>

North Carolina State killed its final chances, hitting into double plays in each of the final three innings. <br>

Clemson will play Wake Forest Saturday.
