LOS ANGELES - Shawn Green saved at least one home run for the home crowd.

Back at Dodger Stadium after a record-setting road trip, Green hit his 10th homer in seven games to lead Los Angeles to a 5-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday.

``I'm really enjoying the ride right now,'' Green said.

He went 16-for-27 with nine homers, including a record-tying four in one game against the Brewers, and 17 RBIs on a six-game swing through Milwaukee and Arizona. He broke the NL mark with nine homers in a calendar week.

Green was stuck in an awful slump before the trip. He received a standing ovation from the home crowd of 32,491 before striking out his first time up.

``One week can make a world of difference, but it was a good feeling to get one at home - especially with the crowd into it,'' Green said.

In other NL games, it was: San Francisco 7, Arizona 3; Atlanta 5, Montreal 1; St. Louis 4, Houston 3; Florida 5, New York 3; Pittsburgh 3, Chicago 2 in 10 innings; and San Diego 8, Colorado 5.

Green, who has two hits in his last 24 at-bats at home, flied out and grounded out before hitting his 13th homer off reliever Jose Cabrera in the seventh. Brian Jordan had an RBI triple for the Dodgers, and Cesar Izturis added a two-run single.

Brewers starter Ben Sheets (3-5) held Green hitless in three at-bats.

``You've just got to make quality pitches to him, and you can get him out if you do,'' Sheets said. ``You're never happy when he comes up to the dish.''

The Dodgers, who placed ace Kevin Brown on the 15-day disabled list with another elbow injury Monday, needed a long outing from Hideo Nomo to rest an overworked bullpen.

Nomo (5-5) came through, allowing two runs, seven hits and seven walks in seven innings. He struck out eight and won his third straight decision.

Eric Gagne got three outs for his 17th save in 18 chances.

``We got a great performance from Hideo Nomo at a time when we absolutely had to have it,'' manager Jim Tracy said. ``When your bullpen throws 195 pitches less than 24 hours ago, you need a step-up performance from your starter. You can't say enough about the job he did.''
GIANTS 7, D-BACKS 3

Barry Bonds hit his 585th career home run, Reggie Sanders had a go-ahead, two-run shot and Benito Santiago doubled three times at Pacific Bell Park.

The Giants, swept in Colorado over the weekend, closed within 1.5 games of the defending World Series champion Diamondbacks in the NL West.

Bonds, who set the single-season record last year with 73 homers, went deep off Brian Anderson (0-3) to move one behind Frank Robinson for fourth place on the career list. Livan Hernandez (5-4) snapped a four-game losing skid.

CARDINALS 4, ASTROS 3

Tino Martinez hit a two-run homer off Roy Oswalt (5-3) in the eighth inning to lift St. Louis at Astros Field. The Cardinals won for the eighth time in nine games and improved to 8-2 against Houston this season.

Lance Berkman homered twice for the Astros, giving him 17 this year.
Marlins 5, Mets 3

Luis Castillo extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a pair of run-scoring singles and had two of Florida's seven stolen bases at Shea Stadium.

Ryan Dempster (3-5) and the Marlins beat Al Leiter (5-4) to end the longest road trip in franchise history with a 5-9 record.

PIRATES 3, CUBS 2, 10 innings

Keith Osik's first pinch-hit of the season drove in the winning run against Antonio Alfonseca (0-1) as Pittsburgh overcame another strong start by Mark Prior.

The Pirates led by one entering the eighth and ninth at PNC Park, only to have Chicago tie it each time on leadoff homers by Corey Patterson and Bobby Hill.

Mike Williams (1-0) won despite his first blown save in 16 chances.
Padres 8, Rockies 5

Phil Nevin doubled twice in his return from the disabled list, and Ryan Klesko homered as host San Diego took advantage of another meltdown by Mike Hampton (2-6) to snap Colorado's six-game winning streak.

Struggling rookie Sean Burroughs was benched to make room for Nevin at third base. The Padres won for just the third time in 11 games.

Brian Lawrence (5-3) earned his first victory in four starts, and Trevor Hoffman got his 14th save in as many opportunities.
