ATLANTA - Cumulus Media Incorporated has agreed to buy eight Macon-area radio stations. <br>

The company said Tuesday it will buy the stations for $35.5 million in cash and stock from U.S. Broadcasting. <br>

The deal calls for Atlanta-based Cumulus to acquire WDDO-AM, WDEN-AM, WMAC-AM, WAYS-FM, WDEN-FM, WPEZ-FM, WMKS-FM and WMGB-FM. <br>

Cumulus is the country's second-largest radio company in the United States, based on the number of stations it owns, with 258 radio stations in 54 mid-sized markets. <br>
<br>
Cumulus shares rose three cents to $20.91 in early trading Tuesday on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.
