Services Saturday for one of Clayton County's community leaders

MORROW - Thomas B. ``Tommy&#39;&#39; Clonts, one of Clayton County&#39;s community leaders, who in 1996 carried the Olympic Torch into Jonesboro en route to Atlanta, has died. <br> <br> A memorial service will be held Saturday at the Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. <br> <br> An original member of the Clayton College & State University Foundation Board of Trustees, Clonts celebrated his 90th birthday in December at a special concert in the University&#39;s Spivey Hall. <br> <br> Clonts, who died Wednesday, retired more than 20 years ago after 44 years with the Gaylord Container Corp. But he continued his work in the community, serving in more than a dozen Clayton County organizations. <br> <br> He was named the 1997 Clayton County Citizen of the Year.
