JERUSALEM - A car bomb exploded at a police checkpoint in Jerusalem Monday, killing the bomber and seriously injuring a policeman. <br>

It's the sixth blast in as many days. The explosion blew the roof off of the car and left behind a twisted mound of metal. <br>

Meanwhile, more Israeli troops and tanks are being seen in Palestinian areas of the West Bank. Israel is stepping-up its offensive as a result of the bloody wave of suicide attacks. The Palestinians are calling Israel's advancement a campaign of terror. <br>

In Washington Monday, President Bush called the string of suicide bombings in the Middle East ``simple terror.'' And he says there will never be peace in that kind of atmosphere. <br>
<br>
Bush is again calling on Yasser Arafat to bring an end to the attacks. And he is calling on Israel to keep a pathway to peace open. <br>
