Car bomb in Colombia kills 10

BOGOTA, COLOMBIA - A car bomb exploded in the entertainment district of a provincial capital Sunday, killing at least 10 people and wounding more than 60, authorities said. <br> <br> No one claimed responsibility for the blast shortly after 1 a.m. in Villavicencio, 45 miles southeast of Bogota, but police suspected the country&#39;s main rebel group was behind it. <br> <br> Several buildings were heavily damaged, including the offices of Super Noticias radio station, bars and discos, and more than a half-dozen cars were wrecked in the blast. <br> <br> A tennis complex on the outskirts of the city is the site of Colombia&#39;s Davis Cup tennis match this weekend against Uruguay. There was no word on whether any of the tennis players were among the victims. <br> <br> Davis Cup umpire Omar Cardona, a Venezuelan, said he would meet with the team captains to discuss whether the final two singles matches of the tournament would proceed as scheduled on Sunday. <br> <br> Authorities asked residents of Villavicencio, the capital of Meta state, to donate blood in hospitals for the wounded. <br> <br> Colombia&#39;s 38-year civil war, pitting the country&#39;s two main rebel armies against a rival paramilitary group and the government, kills an estimated 3,500 people every year. <br> <br> Violence has worsened in this South American country since February, when the Colombian government ended a three-year peace process with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia, the country&#39;s main rebel group.
