NEW YORK - Paul McCartney says the emotional highlight of his current tour is a little-known song called ``Here Today.''
He wrote it for his former Beatle bandmate John Lennon shortly after Lennon's murder in 1980. Until now, he's performed it mostly as a poem.
McCartney is in the middle of a 20-date U-S tour, his first in ten years.

It came about as an indirect result of the September eleventh terror attacks.
He was in New York that day, on an airport runway in fact, for a concert in Russia. Instead, he stayed in the city and performed in last fall's Concert for New York.
He says that was the gig that persuaded him it would be a good idea to go on an American tour.
