TRENTON, NEW JERSEY - New Jersey's Big Game winner has big debts.

Jorge and Joanne Lopes filed for bankruptcy protection last year due to nearly $600,000 in unpaid debt.

But the case was dismissed because Lopes did not show up for a hearing that would have completed a repayment plan. An assistant to the trustee overseeing the case says he's no longer protected from his creditors.

Court documents show the couple racked up more than $200,000 in credit card debts alone.
Lopes manages two Portuguese restaurants. His wife worked as a daycare teacher and makes deliveries for a florist.
During a news conference in Trenton today, Lopes said he would use the money to pay his bills. He did not mention the bankruptcy.
He also said he plans to keep working despite the $43 million prize.
