Peck leaves WNBA for Florida job

GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA - Carolyn Peck was hired as the women&#39;s basketball coach at Florida, leaving the WNBA and returning to college after leading Purdue to the 1999 national title. <br> <br> The appointment of the Orlando Miracle coach was announced Wednesday by the school. She was to be introduced at a campus news conference. <br> <br> Peck succeeds Carol Ross, who quit March 22 after 12 years with the Lady Gators. She took the team to the NCAA tournament nine times. <br> <br> Peck was coach and general manager of the Miracle. Before that, she coached Purdue to its championship and was honored as coach of the year by The Associated Press.
