Piazza, Ordonez in; Vaughn, Franco out for Mets

CHICAGO - Mets catcher Mike Piazza and shortstop Rey Ordonez are in the lineup against the Chicago Cubs following weekend injuries.

Slugging first baseman Mo Vaughn and reliever John Franco already are out.

Piazza missed Sunday's game in Atlanta with a bruised left knee. Ordonez hurt his right wrist sliding the same day.

Manager Bobby Valentine says Piazza is fine, although there was some knee discoloration.

Valentine thinks sprained ligaments are causing swelling in Ordonez's wrist. X-rays were negative.

Vaughn has a broken pinkie. Franco is on the DL with elbow tendinitis but could be activated this week.
