Council fires officer accused of ramming teen-agers

KINGSTON - The city council of this Bartow County town has fired a reserve police officer accused of chasing a group of teen-agers in his private car through Cartersville, finally striking the vehicle and causing it to spin out. <br>

The decision on Officer Kirk Burrell came at the council's regular meeting Monday after a long debate in closed session. <br>
<br>
Burrell, 28, of Taylorsville, was charged with reckless conduct, aggressive driving and reckless driving following the March 28 incident. <br>
<br>
Burrell, who was off-duty and not in uniform, allegedly forced the teen-age driver to the ground at gunpoint, handcuffing him, according to Georgia State Patrol reports.
