KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - Tennessee junior April McDivitt and freshman Michelle Munoz have decided to transfer to other schools at the end of the semester, coach Pat Summitt announced Wednesday.
``I was both surprised and disappointed when they told me of their intentions to leave the Lady Vol basketball program and the University of Tennessee,'' Summitt said in a statement.

The players told Summitt of their intentions during year-end individual player meetings. They did not announce where they are going to enroll.
McDivitt would have been one of three seniors on the team next year.
Munoz is the daughter of NFL Hall of Famer Anthony Munoz from Mason, Ohio, and her brother, Michael, is an offensive lineman at Tennessee.
McDivitt, of Connersville, Ind., started in all five games of the NCAA tournament this season as point guard.

She was one of the team's most accurate 3-point shooters and was a two-time All-SEC academic selection.
``Through my recent conversations with my parents, friends and coach Summitt, I have come to the conclusion that my senior season would be best pursued at another program,'' McDivitt said in a statement. ``I couldn't be more thankful to everyone who has invested in my experience at UT and for the relationships that I have made with my teammates.''

Munoz played in 27 games as a rookie but never started. She was the team's best overall shooter at 58 percent.

``I have taken a lot of time thinking through my situation, and I've decided to pursue the rest of my career at another program,'' she said in a statement. ``This year has been a great experience, and I've learned a lot.''
Neither player immediately returned calls seeking comment.
The Lady Vols' season ended after losing to eventual-national champion Connecticut in the national semifinals.
Since Summitt became coach in 1974, 16 players have transferred from Tennessee. The most recent transfers were Teresa Geter in 1999 to South Carolina and Taskeika Morris in 2000.
