Plant in Brunswick closing

BRUNSWICK - A company that has operated in Georgia since 1979 will close its plant and lay off all 117 employees next month. <br> <br> Most workers at OSG Tap and Die Incorporated will be let go on May 31. The plant will close on September 30. The company is part of the Japanese-based OSG Tap and Die and has its U.S. headquarters in Glendale Heights, Illinois. <br> <br> Company president Dane Winters said in a statement that a down trend in the economy and a changing market forced the closing. <br> <br> The firm manufactures thread-rolling dies and cutting tools for metals. It has plants in Japan, Mexico and Illinois. The company once employed as many as 230 workers in Brunswick and manufactured more than 230,000 tools each month.
