SAVANNAH - Firefighters found the bodies of two people early Thursday in a Chatham County house fire investigators called suspicious.
It was unclear who had died in the fire, but a woman and her daughter who lived in the house in the River's Bend subdivision have been reported missing, Savannah television station WTOC reported.
Authorities said they were unable to determine the victims' sex. The bodies were to be sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab in Atlanta Friday for identification.
Firefighters, who had trouble reaching the house because of a fence surrounding the property, said the house was engulfed when they arrived about 5:30 a.m.
