The occasion was the Second Annual Hopewell Bench Press Meet.<br>

The proceeds are to go to benefit the Hopewell Christian Academy.<br>

Heaviest bench of the day was turned in by heavyweight, Gainesville fireman Heath Powers who pressed 435 pounds on his opening lift. After missing his second try at 440, Powers declined his third lift.<br>

Chestatee Middle Schooler Laura Howington led the female lifters with a 120 pound press.<br>
