PEACHTREE CITY - The Wings Over Dixie Air Show in Peachtree City has changed its name to the Great Georgia Air Show.
Chairman Greg Hall said sponsors have questioned ``Dixie'' for several years.

``Some of their African-American workers were opposed to something with 'Dixie' on it,'' Hall said. ``We decided maybe it's time for a change.''
The Texas-based group that supplies some of the vintage WWII planes for the air show, also was recently renamed, from the Confederate Air Force to the Commemorative Air Force.
Members said ``Confederate'' scared off corporate donations needed to help keep its fleet airborne. The organization's 200-member Dixie Wing is headquartered in Peachtree City, and its members on the air show board supported the name change.
The air show will be held Sept. 14-15 at Falcon Field.
