Road worker killed by truck

MARIETTA - A worker for a company hired by the state Department of Transportation to clean up highway debris was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck on Interstate 75 in Cobb County. <br> <br> The accident happened late Sunday night on I-75 southbound near Interstate 285. DOT spokesman Mark McKinnon says it involved a crew from Sweeping Corporation of America. <br> <br> Cobb police spokesman Brody Staud says the worker was a passenger in a street-sweeper. He was hit when he got out to pick up a piece of debris. Authorities have not identified the man. <br> <br> No charges have been filed, but Staud says the investigation is ongoing. <br> <br> On April 5, DOT worker, Danny Wilbanks of Chatsworth was killed while doing surveying work. Chatsworth was struck by an asphalt truck in Cherokee County.
