Kevin Jacobs resigns as Jefferson girl's coach

JEFFERSON - Jefferson City High School is confirming that girl's varsity head coach Kevin Jacobs has resigned. <br> <br> Jacobs, who led the Jefferson Lady Dragons to the state Class A title in 2001 and Class A runner up this year, ends an eight-year-run in Jefferson, where his teams compiled a record 140-81.<br> <br> Under Jacobs, the Lady Dragons went to the state basketball playoffs four times and took the crown last year and ended this season with a 27-4 record losing the title game to Wesleyan 65-49.<br> <br> Jacobs will remain as a physical science teacher through the end of this school year. No word was available if Jacobs had accepted another coaching position elsewhere. <br> <br> Jacobs had announced following the 2001 season that he would be the girl's coach at Buford High School but instead returned back to Jefferson for the 2002 season.
