AUGUSTA - A 46-year-old man has been convicted of selling 15 phony badges for the 2001 Masters Tournament for $24,000. <br>

James Lee Davis was found guilty of violating the RICO Act and 26 counts of second-degree forgery. He awaits sentencing. <br>

Davis responded to an advertisement in The Augusta Chronicle placed by two New York men who wanted to purchase and resell the badges. <br>
<br>
The two men called the sheriff's office last March after their customers, who had been to the Masters in the past, recognized the badges as counterfeits. <br>
<br>
Davis was arrested two weeks later after a search of his home turned up 26 more fake badges to be sold to other ticket-sales companies.
