Rangers beat Blue Jays, 3-2

ARLINGTON TEXAS - Rafael Palmeiro smacked a two-run homer and Kenny Rogers worked seven strong innings to lead Texas over Toronto 3-2. <br> <br> Rogers served up a solo homer to Raul Mondesi that put the Blue Jays ahead 1-0 in the first. Palmeiro answered with his 452nd career home run to put the Rangers ahead to stay later in the inning. He&#39;s 14-for-33 with three homers and ten RBI&#39;s during his eight-game hitting streak. <br> <br> Alex Rodriguez added an RBI single to help Rogers improve to 2-0. <br> <br> Rogers allowed two runs and five hits to go to 2-0. He threw a shutout in his previous start Friday at Seattle. <br> <br> Hideki Irabu tossed a perfect ninth for his second save. <br> <br> Luke Prokopec pitched into the seventh, allowing three runs and five hits. He&#39;s 1-2.
