OTTAWA - Patrick Lalime posted his third consecutive shutout and Ottawa went up three-games-to-one in its opening-round series by beating Philadelphia 3-to-0.
Lalime is the fifth goalie in modern N-H-L history to record three straight playoff shutouts. He made half of his 28 saves in the final period to keep his shutout streak alive.
The only goal scored by the Flyers in the series has been Ruslan Fedotenko's overtime tally in game one. They've gone five consecutive playoff games without a goal in regulation, dating back to last season.
Wade Redden opened the scoring with 20 seconds left in the opening period. Shawn McEachern assisted on goals by Sami Salo and Marian Hossa just over two minutes apart in the second period to send the Senators to their third consecutive 3-to-0 win.
The Senators can close out the series Friday in Philadelphia.
