Former Woodstock High School teacher on trial for sexual assault

WOODSTOCK - A 17-year-old girl is expected to return to the stand today to continue testimony against a teacher facing sexual assault charges. <br> <br> Gene R. Groves, a former Woodstock High School teacher, is accused of having sex with one student and touching another. He has pleaded innocent to the charges. <br> <br> The girl, who testified yesterday, said Groves touched her inappropriately on two separate occasions last school year. She admitted she had a crush on Groves, but said the sexual touching made her nervous and uncomfortable. <br> <br> Groves is one of three former Woodstock High School teachers who resigned following investigations into improper relationships with students. <br> <br> Bradley L. Chapman, of Roswell, pleaded guilty in February to sexual assault and statutory rape charges. Chapman was sentenced to ten years. <br> <br> Richard Paul Adams the Second, of Kingston, pleaded guilty in September to simple assault and reckless conduct involving a student. <br> <br> Adams was placed on probation for two years and fined $1,000.
