INDIANAPOLIA - The N-C-A-A has approved a measure that would benefit high school players. The rule allows high school athletes to enter the N-B-A draft but still go to college without losing eligibility if they don't sign with a team or an agent.
The rule was approved today by the N-C-A-A's board of directors. It takes effect starting with this year's N-B-A draft, and matches the current rules governing college underclassmen.
The board tabled another measure that would allow top athletes to borrow 20-thousand dollars. Another measure that could allow high schoolers to play up to one year professionally while retaining college eligibility was tabled as well.
